There is no sign up fee, but you need to be a member of West Bridgford Tennis Club.

Website:

The singles league will be accessible via a website (linked from the main club website). Here you will be able to enter you're results, see you points, current ranking, who else you need to play etc.

Flexible format:

You can play the best of 15 games, the best of 3 sets, etc. - whatever suits you. All you need to do is agree together and abide by the clubs normal rules on court usage. When you enter the result on the website it will work out who won and by how much etc. Players will need to arrange matches between themselves at whatever time is convenient for them - fixtures and contact details will be available on the website.

Divisions:

There will be divisions of 4 players. Each division will last a month, so in order to play all their matches each player will need to play 3 matches each month. At the end of each month 1 player will go up and 1 will go down.

Point system

3 points will be awarded for a win, 2 points for a draw, 1 point for a loss ( ie. turning up).

Ranking in the event of a tie

Players will be ranked on a percentage basis. For each match the percentage of games won for each player in that match is recorded. For each player the percentages for each match are then added together. This approach means that in terms of ranking it doesn't matter whether you play 15 games or 3 sets, it is how well you play in each match that counts.
